Although he soared into the spotlight a mere three years ago, Beri Weber was no newcomer to the music scene. Hailing from a musically inclined family, Beri’s earliest forays into the recording industry occurred when he was just nine years old. At that early age, his professionalism was already apparent when he was honored to sing at family and local community affairs. His talent did not go unnoticed as he soon found himself recording with musical giants such as MBD, Moshe Goldman, and Mendy Werdyger among others. He was also the lead vocalist on one of the legendary Kinder Classics and JEP albums.
Some people might remember Beri strumming his guitar and singing several of his moving compositions at Kever Dovid in Eretz Yisroel. His passion for kumzitz style singing developed during those inspiring sessions. After his wedding, at the urging and encouragement of some family members and friends to utilize his talents, Beri got introduced to the famous Shira Choir. This started his career as a wedding singer and led to other opportunities and ventures. He lent his voice to many albums and choirs during the next few years.
It was during one of those choir recordings that Beri’s voice caught the ear of the astute studio owner who mentioned it to an up and coming producer named Naftuli Moshe Schnitzler. An original plan for a small wedding album turned into the phenomenon that was Beri’s debut album “Bezras Hashem Yisburoch”. Brimming with an array of amazing songs by renowned and rising composers, the project was an incredible success and brought the name “Beri Weber” to the forefront of the Jewish music world and into Yiddish households and wedding halls worldwide.
Beri draws his ideas for his music from many sources but attributes his insights to his mentors Reb Lazer Brody and Reb Mota Frank שליטא, who taught him that music is not just an art, but a gateway to spirituality. The power of שירה is ranked very high in עבדות ה’ and can uplift people in a way that no other talent can. His inspirations resulted in the highly popular kumzitz album titled “Farbreng” and many stirring musical gatherings.
Beri is a world renowned wedding singer and performer and is currently putting the finishing touches on his third album called “Thank You Hashem”, produced once more by Naftuli M. Schnitzler, which will feature many of Beri’s own compositions as well as some by his friend Lipa Schmeltzer, and others in the music field.
